AMERICAN ALMOND COMPANY
Hickman, California Forklift Operator Full-Time | $18-$24 / hour, DOE | Some evenings & weekends required American Almond Company (AAC) processes and handles almonds as part of a vertically integrated agricultural operation based in California's Central Valley. We're looking for an experienced Forklift Operator who knows almond processing inside and out — someone who can keep product moving accurately and safely from receiving through shipping, especially during the volume swings of peak season.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is central to keeping our processing floor running smoothly. You'll operate a forklift to move raw and finished almond products throughout the facility, working closely with the processing, quality, and logistics teams to stage material correctly by size and grade and prevent bottlenecks. Because processing volume shifts with the season, this role requires flexibility — including some evenings and weekends as operational needs dictate.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and move almond product (bins, totes, pallets, and bulk bags) throughout the facility Stage and route raw and processed material according to almond size, grade, and processing schedule Read and follow work orders, load tags, and production schedules to keep material flow moving efficiently Support receiving, in-process handling, and shipping operations across the plant Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections and promptly report equipment issues or safety concerns Maintain accurate inventory placement and proper stock rotation (FIFO) in the yard and warehouse Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality protocols, including HACCP standards Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Current forklift certification (or ability to obtain/renew prior to start) Prior experience working in almond processing and familiarity with Almond Logic Software Working knowledge of almond sizes, grades, and process flow Ability to work full-time, including some evenings and weekends as processing volume requires Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse/processing environment with dust, temperature variation, and machinery noise Preferred HACCP certification
COMPENSATION
$18-$24 per hour, depending on experience.
