Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to facilitate the safe and accurate movement of goods within the warehouse. Your expertise in warehouse operations and materials handling will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety protocols, OSHA standards, and mechanical knowledge to support our commitment to operational excellence. Responsibilities Operate forklift trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Load and unload shipments with precision while adhering to safety standards and heavy lifting guidelines. Assist with inventory management by conducting regular stock counts, updating records in warehouse management systems, and ensuring proper storage of materials. Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing deliveries. Utilize manual handling techniques for materials that require careful handling or mechanical assistance. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety protocols outlined by OSHA and company policies. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and cranes; report any mechanical issues for prompt resolution. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and implement process improvements. Participate in safety training sessions to stay current with best practices in heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety. Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving, and inventory management. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including manual handling techniques and OSHA safety standards. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate order processing. Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for inventory counts and measurements. Experience with construction or industrial environments is advantageous due to familiarity with heavy lifting procedures. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within a diverse environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking or load & unload tasks.
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
