Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating reach trucks and other material handling equipment to efficiently manage inventory, load and unload shipments, and support overall warehouse operations. This position is vital to maintaining a safe, organized, and productive environment, ensuring that goods are handled with precision and care. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, excellent safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution setting. Responsibilities Operate reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and other forklifts safely in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards. Load and unload materials from trucks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and lift trucks. Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Manage inventory through accurate barcode scanning, data entry into warehouse management systems, and proper materials handling techniques. Pick orders accurately using order picker equipment, ensuring correct quantities and product types. Maintain organized storage areas by stacking pallets securely and following warehouse distribution protocols. Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying orders against shipping documents, and documenting movements. Follow manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries. Assist with cycle counts, inventory management tasks, and maintaining stock accuracy. Adhere strictly to warehouse safety protocols including proper lifting techniques, equipment operation standards, and hazard awareness. Qualifications Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts (including Hi-Lo), cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks within a warehouse environment. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory control procedures. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving processes. Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements. Experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus but not required. Excellent manual handling skills with a focus on safety during heavy lifting tasks. Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment repair or minor maintenance issues.
