Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts (lift trucks), reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move scrap metal materials. Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and materials transfer with proper techniques to prevent injury. Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and order picker tools to ensure accurate stock levels. Assist with shipping & receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation and barcode scanning compliance. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Follow warehouse safety protocols including OSHA regulations, forklift safety protocols, and general warehouse safety standards in production environments. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials efficiently, participating in order picking processes, and ensuring timely load & unload operations. Experience Proven experience operating various types of material handling equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks), pallet jacks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and load & unload machinery. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving procedures, and barcode scanning logistics. Familiarity with warehouse safety standards in production environments and OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation. Prior experience in warehouse management or supervision is a plus but not required; willingness to learn warehouse management systems is essential. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely with basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements.
