Job Description

Ratto Bros, Inc . is a 100-year-old family-owned farming operation selling vegetables and leafy greens to retailers and packers throughout the U.S. As a vertically integrated grower, packer, and shipper, we have full control over every aspect of our business that allows us to stay true to our ongoing commitment to provide the freshest, safest, and highest quality produce in the market. We are looking for a Forklift Operator to work in our Cooler our our pallet yard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely and in accordance with company policies, training, and all applicable regulations.
  • Safely load, unload, and retrieve pallets from warehouse racking systems to complete orders and support shipping and production requirements.
  • Store (put away) incoming pallets into assigned racking locations and ensure proper placement, stability, and system accuracy.
  • Manage and maintain warehouse storage racks by organizing inventory according to product type, rotation requirements, and space utilization needs.
  • Move, transport, and stage pallets between receiving, storage, cooling, and shipping areas.
  • Build and verify pallets with correct stacking patterns, weight distribution, and load stability for safe storage and transport.
  • Select and move pallets based on detailed order specifications, including commodity type, pack size, label/vendor, container type, country of origin, lot number, and quality requirements.
  • Pick and stage customer orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy in product type, quantity, and configuration.
  • Verify pallet tags, labels, and identification markers to ensure traceability and inventory control compliance.
  • Utilize warehouse inventory systems (e.g., RedLine Cooler system) to maintain accurate inventory records and support First-In, First-Out (FIFO) rotation of product.
  • Rotate and manage cold storage inventory to ensure proper product flow, freshness, and FIFO compliance.
  • Load and unload materials manually or using material handling equipment from pallets, or transport vehicles.
  • Weigh product and accurately record weights, counts, and production data on tags, labels, or system records.
  • Operate or assist with automated wrapping systems as required.
  • Ensure correct placement of pallets into automatic wrapping equipment and verify proper positioning for secure wrapping and shipment readiness.
  • Maintain cold storage operations, including monitoring temperature conditions and ensuring proper storage practices.
  • Identify and report equipment, product, rack damage, or facility issues immediately to supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of racking systems, aisles, and cold storage areas to ensure safety and food quality compliance.
  • Perform hand-stacking, repacking, bagging, relabeling, or pallet adjustments when necessary.
  • Work under time-sensitive conditions with multiple priorities and strict production deadlines.
  • Communicate with supervisors at shift completion and follow assigned schedules.
  • Perform additional warehouse, storage, or shipping duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or
GED. 2-3
years' experience as an forklift operator. FAMOUS and Redline familiarity is a plus. Forklift and pallet jack experience is required. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required. Strong ability to analyze and think strategically. This position is a full time. We offer competitive wages and benefits along with the opportunity for personal growth within a learning environment.
