Now hiring for a Mattress firm dc 1st shift 7:30am-4pm Call Nancy 949-283-8772 or Yvonne 909-402-6026 Overview Join our dynamic team as a Sit down /Reach Forklift Operator and Material Handler, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations and efficient materials movement. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, all while maintaining high safety standards. Your expertise will help us optimize inventory management, shipping and receiving processes, and warehouse distribution activities. Duties Safely operate various warehouse equipment such as forklifts (including lift trucks, reach trucks, clamp trucks), pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo trucks to load, unload, move, and organize materials. Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and precise materials handling to ensure accurate order picking and inventory management. Conduct barcode scanning for logistics purposes to track shipments accurately within the warehouse management system. Assist with shipping and receiving operations by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining shipment accuracy. Maintain warehouse safety protocols by adhering to OSHA standards and forklift safety procedures during all equipment operation activities. Support warehouse distribution efforts through order picking, load & unload tasks, and inventory control activities. Troubleshoot basic equipment repair needs or coordinate maintenance requests to ensure optimal operation of all materials handling equipment. Participate in warehouse management system updates to keep inventory records current and accurate. Follow safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents and promote a safe working atmosphere for all team members. Experience Proven experience operating forklift types such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, or Hi-Lo forklifts in a busy warehouse setting. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, inventory management, order picking, and distribution processes. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements and logistics documentation. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols and heavy equipment operation. Experience with barcode scanning technology used for logistics tracking purposes. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper safety procedures. Previous warehouse supervision experience or familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus but not required. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry accuracy.
