Job Description

Connect Staffing is hiring an experienced Hyster Sit-down Forklift Operator for Engineered Wood Products (EWP) for a lumber handling warehouse in Riverside, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $24.13/hr with schedules running Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to close (up to 12 hours), plus Saturday overtime as needed. In this role, you will operate a Hyster forklift to transport, load, and unload lumber materials — including 60-foot engineered wood products — in an outdoor yard environment. This position offers frequent overtime and long-term placement potential.

Spanish Work Environment:
Outdoor Yard Responsibilities Operate a Sit-down Hyster forklift to transport, load, and unload 60 foot lumber and engineered wood products throughout the outdoor yard. Handle and move 60-foot long material safely using forklift attachments and proper technique. Must know how to use a chain saw as required to cut or process lumber materials. Perform daily forklift safety inspections before operating equipment. Keep stock material areas organized, consolidated, and clear of debris — including emptying trash and wood waste bins. Assess tasks, prioritize work, and coordinate with team members to maintain yard flow. Minimum Requirements 1+ year of recent forklift experience in a lumber yard, construction, or building materials environment. Experience operating a large-capacity forklift in a lumber, building materials, or heavy industrial yard. Familiarity with handling long or oversized materials such as engineered wood products (EWP — Engineered Wood Products), structural lumber, or similar. Preferred Qualifications Experience using a chain saw or other cutting equipment in a production or yard environment. Background in outdoor yard operations, sawmill, truss plant, or building supply distribution. Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and document findings. Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish. Pre-Employment Requirements Drug screen required. Background check required. E-Verify / work authorization required. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to perform physical tasks including pushing, bending, carrying, and reaching. Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods. Ability to work at a fast pace.
