Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description The forklift operator safely operates industrial trucks and material handling equipment in a warehouse or similar facility to move, load, unload, and stack products. This role focuses on accurate product handling, efficient movement of materials between loading, processing, and storage areas, and adherence to safety and quality standards to support timely and complete delivery of goods. Responsibilities Inspect product loads for accuracy and ensure items are correctly identified, counted, and prepared for movement within the warehouse or facility. Safely operate forklifts and other industrial trucks to move materials between loading docks, processing areas, and storage locations. Use levers, pedals, and controls to operate lifting devices, such as forklifts and hoists, to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, and boxes, ensuring products are handled carefully to prevent damage. Secure materials and products for transport to designated areas, following established procedures for stability and safety. Follow warehouse safety protocols and comply with all facility rules and guidelines while operating equipment. Support inventory movement by transporting products to appropriate storage or staging locations as directed. Work collaboratively with team members and communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate material flow. Identify basic issues related to product quality or load accuracy and escalate concerns to the appropriate personnel. Participate in on-site skills assessments and any required training to maintain safe and effective operation of forklifts and related equipment. Essential Skills Proven ability to operate forklifts and other industrial trucks safely and effectively in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Forklift operators license required, with readiness to demonstrate skills through an on-site assessment. 02 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience operating material handling equipment. Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate tasks and follow instructions clearly. High level of attention to detail when inspecting product loads and verifying accuracy. Ability to work as a team player, collaborating with colleagues to maintain efficient material flow. Basic problem-solving skills to address routine issues in load handling and material movement. Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Ability to perform manual material handling tasks, including loading and unloading pallets, skids, and boxes. Capability to follow safety procedures and comply with warehouse safety standards consistently. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Familiarity with inventory movement and warehouse workflows. Understanding of warehouse safety compliance practices and guidelines. Comfort working on a third-shift schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Bernardino, California 92408. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
