Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to perform daily manufacturing support and material handling tasks. Experience in warehouse production is highly valued. Candidates with 1-3 years of experience are preferred. Responsibilities Stage materials correctly for production and transport colorant bags to the mixers. Carry out general production and labor tasks, including loading and unloading materials. Utilize a forklift safely throughout the day to move heavy bags and materials within the facility. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines. Essential Skills Forklift operation experience (prior experience is a significant advantage). Proficiency in following all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Experience with general production, manufacturing processes, and machine operation. Knowledgeable in secure material handling and safe lifting techniques. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly. Capability to work in a warehouse environment that can be dusty or "dirty" due to non-toxic colorant powders. Possession of a consistent work history with strong reliability and a commitment to long-term employment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an industrial warehouse where the environment can be dusty due to the use of colorant powders. While the powder is non-toxic and non-staining, it is considered a "dirty" work environment. Standard shifts are 8-9 hours, but you must be prepared to work 10-12 hours per day during the busy season (typically March through June). The company provides required PPE such as hard hats and safety goggles, but employees are responsible for providing their own steel-toe boots. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Ames, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
