Job Description

Job Title:
Shipping Forklift Operator Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Shipping Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse operations in a climate-controlled distribution environment. In this role, you will operate a forklift for the majority of your shift while also assisting with order picking, staging, and shipping tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and forklift experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented warehouse setting. Key Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift and 2-prong forklift safely and efficiently (approximately 70% of shift) Accurately pick and prepare customer orders using RF scanners and warehouse systems Load outbound shipments, including 53' trailers , with proper weight distribution and securement Verify orders for accuracy, quantity, and documentation prior to shipment Perform shipping and receiving tasks such as staging, labeling, and organizing freight Shrink wrap, break down, and rebuild pallets to ensure safe transport Track inventory and product movement using RF scanning equipment Follow food-grade handling procedures when applicable Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding issues or discrepancies Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
Qualifications Required:
Experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting Experience with order picking, shipping, and receiving processes Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly Strong attention to detail and accuracy Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Reliable transportation
Preferred:
Current forklift certification (or ability to obtain) Experience loading 53' trailers Experience in food distribution or material handling Experience operating 2-prong forklifts General warehouse experience (picking, packing, staging) Why Join Us? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
