Forklift Operator I -1st Shift -Shelling

Summary of Position We are seeking a Forklift Operator I to join our team. This entry-level role requires certification in both sit-down and stand-up forklift operation. The Forklift Operator I is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, putting away materials, and performing various warehouse tasks. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while supporting food safety and quality standards.

Function Of The Position:

Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load and unload trucks. Place items in racks and verify received goods against order documentation. Sign Bills of Lading (BOLs) and apply License Plates (LPs) as instructed. Pick and put away orders accurately and efficiently. Conduct and document truck inspections. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including sweeping, dusting, removing trash, taping open cases, and organizing pallets. Rotate inventory using the FIFO method. Perform pre-operation inspections of equipment and report any deficiencies. Use hand-held scanning equipment accurately and responsibly. Conduct location audits as needed. Food Safety & Compliance Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), allergen/sanitation controls, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. Maintain and document preventative controls for food safety and quality. Immediately report any food safety or quality issues to management. Support a culture of safety through safe work behaviors and hazard reporting. Qualifications Education & Experience Minimum 1 year of forklift driving experience. Knowledge of safe forklift operation. Skills & Competencies Basic math skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
