Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and organize goods within the warehouse. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse distribution operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in warehouse management systems, barcode scanning for logistics, and manual handling techniques to support our company's logistics and supply chain objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and other material handling equipment in compliance with OSHA and safety standards. Load and unload shipments efficiently using appropriate equipment such as lift trucks and pallet jacks. Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Manage inventory through accurate barcode scanning, updating warehouse management systems, and maintaining precise stock levels. Assist with order picking and shipping & receiving processes to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by properly stacking pallets and materials. Support manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while following proper ergonomic practices. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily operations and optimize workflow. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Participate in regular safety training sessions to uphold OSHA standards and promote a safe working environment.
Experience:
Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment such as cherry pickers and reach trucks. Strong background in warehouse operations, distribution logistics, inventory management, and shipping & receiving procedures. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and basic math skills for inventory counts. Experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus but not required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols and heavy equipment operation. Prior experience with manual handling techniques for heavy materials is desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety standards in production environments.
