Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating reach trucks and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload goods within our warehouse distribution center. Your expertise will ensure safe, accurate, and timely inventory management, supporting seamless warehouse operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and a passion for logistics to contribute to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Duties Operate reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards. Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials using manual handling techniques when necessary. Pick orders accurately using barcode scanning technology and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders promptly. Manage inventory by organizing stock in designated warehouse areas, conducting regular stock counts, and updating inventory management systems. Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage of goods. Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal operation of material handling machinery. Follow warehouse safety protocols during all activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Requirements Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory control procedures. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper safety practices. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments or inventory data. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking, load & unload procedures. Valid certification for forklift or lift truck operation preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already certified.
