Forklift Operator - $18/hr Job Description As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in the material handling and inventory management within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating standup/man-up forklifts, managing inventory, and ensuring the accuracy of parts and kits. The day-to-day responsibilities can vary, with a mix of forklift operation and physical inventory tasks. Responsibilities Operate standup/man-up forklifts for material handling and kitting tasks. Review pick lists and verify inventory on hand in the warehouse. Label inventory and ensure proper tags and labels are in place. Count and verify quantities and labels of physical inventory by hand. Perform basic data entry and navigation on a computer for inventory management. Work with printed pick lists for verification of parts on hand. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience within the last 5 years. Comfortable operating forklifts and electric carts in a warehouse setting. Proficient in basic computer navigation and data entry. Able to bend, twist, and lift as required for counting and locating products. Open to working required overtime, including up to 50+ hour work weeks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with inventory control and accuracy. Strong commitment to safety. Work Environment The work environment consists of a warehouse setting with three shifts available: 1st shift from 7am-3pm, 2nd shift from 3pm-11pm, and 3rd shift from 11pm-7am. Training will be conducted during the day for 1-3 weeks, depending on the role. The position requires flexibility for overtime, including mandatory Saturdays up to two weeks in a row, while Sundays remain voluntary. Expect to work 10-hour days with breaks every 2 hours and a 20-minute paid lunch. Comfortable working at heights is necessary due to the use of harnesses on forklifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Decatur, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.65/hr.
