Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating reach trucks and other material handling equipment to efficiently manage inventory, load and unload shipments, and support overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, demonstrate adherence to safety standards, and contribute to maintaining an organized and productive distribution environment. Responsibilities Safely operate reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA and safety standards. Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, and containers while adhering to proper manual handling procedures. Manage inventory through accurate barcode scanning, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and conducting regular stock counts. Pick orders precisely using order picker equipment and prepare shipments for dispatch. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming/outgoing items against shipping documents. Perform routine equipment inspections, troubleshoot minor issues, and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas, stacking pallets safely, and optimizing space utilization. Follow warehouse safety protocols during heavy lifting, materials handling, and operation of heavy equipment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure compliance with safety standards in production environments. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, damages, or discrepancies for reporting purposes. Requirements Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts (including lift truck and Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and cherry pickers within a warehouse setting. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology for logistics, and shipping & receiving procedures. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols and materials handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including order picking, load & unload activities, and heavy equipment operation. Experience in warehouse management or supervision is a plus but not mandatory. Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly while following manual handling guidelines. Excellent attention to detail combined with organizational skills for inventory management. Commitment to maintaining safety standards in production environments through proper use of equipment.
