1st Shift Forklift Operator $20 Job Description The 1st Shift Forklift Operator safely operates stand-up forklifts and reach trucks to move, pick, and stage corrugated products in a modern warehouse environment. This role focuses on accurate order picking from double-deep racks, loading and unloading trucks, performing cycle counts, and verifying inventory to support efficient and timely distribution of goods. Responsibilities Operate stand-up forklifts and reach trucks to move corrugated product throughout the warehouse. Pick product from double-deep racks with precision and accuracy. Use cherry picking equipment to access and retrieve products stored at various heights. Load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently. Perform cycle counting and verify inventory levels to maintain accurate stock records. Review product loads for accuracy and ensure timely and complete delivery. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and fueling. Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data on tags or labels. Signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials as needed to support warehouse operations. Use RF scanners to pick orders, track inventory, and complete packing and unloading tasks. Assist with general labor duties such as packaging, packing, and order picking to support overall warehouse productivity. Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment while working in the facility. Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse environment. Work Environment This role is based in a brand-new, well-lit, and very clean warehouse facility designed to support efficient and safe operations. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (with some information indicating a 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. shift), providing consistent daytime hours. The environment involves regular use of stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and RF scanners, as well as interaction with double-deep rack storage systems. Steel toe shoes are required as part of the dress code to ensure safety while working around material handling equipment and moving products Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lockport, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.25 - $20.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
