Position Purpose :
The Forklift Operator will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to sit down and stand-up forklifts, stand up straddle trucks, walk behinds, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks and radio frequency equipment. They are responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs, and managing inventory.
Job Requirements:
    Years of Experience:
    at least one year of work-related experience required; crane operator experience preferred.
      Education:
      High school diploma or equivalency required
      Essential Responsibilities:
      • Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner
      • Efficiently stack and safely store the merchandise in the designated area
      • Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage
      • Assist with maintaining the security of the warehouse
      • Participating in physical inventories
      • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
      • Promptly report all safety malfunctions on equipment
      • Comply with OSHA standards
      • Charge or change forklift battery as needed
      • Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency/consolidation
      • Securing loads to the machine before transportation
      • Must be available and ready to work promptly at the beginning of each shift
      • Perform other duties as assigned
      Qualifications/Skills:
      • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
      • Exhibit close attention to detail
      • Time management skills are essential to meet deadlines
      • Knowledge of safety program
      • Diligent and good hand-eye coordination
      • Ability to transport between multiple warehouses in personal vehicle

      Physical Requirements:
      • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
      • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, and twisting over surfaces
      • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
      • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat and gloves when required
      • Ability to work in a hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environment
      • Must be able to climb stairs.
      Pay:
      $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
