Forklift Operator / Material Handler Job Description This role operates forklifts and related material handling equipment to safely move, load, and store products within a manufacturing environment. The position supports shipping, receiving, and production by staging materials, preparing pallets, and completing all required documentation accurately and on time. The Forklift Operator / Material Handler ensures efficient product flow while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. Responsibilities Perform forklift inspections at the start of each shift and immediately report any required repairs to the logistics supervisor, lead, or manager. Load all outgoing shipments accurately and safely, ensuring all required shipping paperwork is completed and turned in to the office daily before the end of the shift. Move pallets from the production area to shipping or drying areas in accordance with production and shipping schedules. Wrap, strap, and prepare pallets for shipment or storage as directed by the lead or supervisor, including strapping and wrapping stock pallets in racks. Report finished goods in the system as required, attach pallet tags, and remove all pallets from the Arcomats in a timely manner. Put away stock in designated rack locations and use scanning equipment to record and confirm locations accurately. Deliver packaging materials to the Acromat areas as required by the production schedule to ensure continuous production flow. Maintain good housekeeping by picking up garbage and bags on the floors, emptying garbage containers, and sweeping floors daily before the end of each shift. Notify the lead or supervisor of any tipped pallets in the racks and assist in correcting unsafe or disorganized storage conditions. Work overtime and weekends as required and notified by management to meet production and customer needs. Train new hires on forklift operation, material handling procedures, and safety practices when requested by management. Assist in the materials warehouse and perform other related tasks or assignments within the scope of the business as directed by management. Why Work Here?
