Full Job Description PURPOSE:
To safely utilize a forklift to move material throughout the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive a forklift safely, following Company guidelines. Maintain warehouse and lift truck cleanliness according to good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Correctly receive, transfer, ship or store material, supplies, or equipment. Load and unload trailers with product, recycling, supplies, etc. Ensure accurate records of material movements are tracked via the RF scanner. Utilize RF scanner to find material locations. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out), philosophy when pulling/placing product. Move, stack and organize materials in designated storage areas. Communicate with individuals in and out of the department to ensure what task needs to be completed. Identify and report any damaged materials or shortages. Complete a pre-inspection checklist to ensure the forklift is in proper working order. Ensure all items have proper labels if needed. Assist in stock takes/inventory counts. Assist in audit preparation of area. Follow all safety and GMP requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver's license required. One or more years of forklift experience. Experience in manufacturing and/or food environment is a plus. Lift up to 50 lbs. RF scanner experience is a plus. Ability to calculate simple mathematical figures. Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Good communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
