GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Perform duties to operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner to service production equipment with raw material, remove containers with finished goods. Pull and prepare products for shipment, load trucks, unload and verify incoming materials.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Use computer list (with part number, location and quantity) to select materials for shipment according to priority established by the shipping clerk. Use the forklift to stage for shipment, placing bar codes on containers, scanning and uploading into computer system.

    Load outgoing shipments on trucks. Provide supporting documents to shipping clerk.
  • 10%
    Use the forklift to unload freight deliveries. Verify material counts to the bill of lading. Contact quality control if there is any apparent signs of damage.
  • 10%
    Store materials in receiving area for quality control checks. (Occasionally move approved materials from quality control staging to designated areas.)
  • 10%
    Weigh count finished and raw materials and assist with the movement of finished goods into storage. Record product information and turn in report as appropriate.
  • 5%
    Take yearly and as needed physical inventory of finished materials, recording part numbers and quantities. Support proper counts by random audits by weight counting materials.
  • 5%
    Service manufacturing operations with raw materials as well as removal to shipping of finished goods.
  • 30%
    Dispose of chips from manufacturing processes as required.
  • 15%
    Perform other related duties as assigned. Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • 5% Required Skills and Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
