$21.50/hour

Indianapolis, IN About the Role We're hiring an experienced Sit-Down Forklift Clamp Operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in an industrial warehouse handling large paper rolls. This position is approximately 50% clamp forklift operation and 50% hands-on paper roll repair. You'll help safely move and stage large materials while also preparing damaged paper rolls for continued use. This role is a great fit for someone who is safety-focused, dependable, comfortable working independently, and confident operating equipment around large, heavy materials. Clamp experience is preferred, but strong sit-down forklift operators who are willing to learn the clamp attachment may be considered. What You'll Do Operate a sit-down forklift with a clamp attachment to safely move large paper rolls Load, unload, stage, and transport paper rolls throughout the warehouse Split time between forklift operation and hands-on paper roll repair Remove bands and trim damaged sections of paper from rolls Inspect paper rolls for damage and properly dispose of damaged material Complete daily equipment inspections and report safety or mechanical concerns Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Initially work on the trailer side of the operation, with opportunities to assist with rail car shipping and receiving after training Follow all warehouse safety procedures while working around paper rolls weighing approximately one ton What We're Looking For Previous sit-down forklift experience required Clamp forklift experience preferred; strong forklift operators willing to learn may be considered Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness Safety-focused and comfortable working around large, heavy materials Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable performing both forklift operation and hands-on warehouse work Willingness to work occasional overtime, including early arrivals, late stays, or weekends Ability to understand and follow workplace and safety instructions Motivated, hardworking, and able to contribute as part of a small warehouse team Why You'll Love Working Here Competitive pay at $21.50/hour Consistent 1st shift schedule Temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term employment Overtime opportunities may be available Opportunity to build valuable clamp forklift experience Variety in your day with both forklift operation and hands-on warehouse work Opportunity to expand your skills and take on additional areas of the operation Work independently while taking ownership of your responsibilities Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a sit-down forklift Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements Ability to safely get on and off forklift equipment throughout the shift Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled industrial warehouse Comfortable working around large, heavy paper rolls and moving equipment Strong spatial awareness for working safely in tight warehouse areas Ability to perform physical warehouse duties throughout the scheduled shift Shift 1st
