Job Description
Shipping and Receiving / Forklift Operator Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving / Forklift Operator is responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and shipping materials and products within a warehouse or distribution environment. This role ensures accurate inventory handling, safe forklift operation, and timely shipment of goods while maintaining compliance with company safety standards. Key Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and product condition against packing slips and purchase orders. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment and unload trucks and transport materials to designated warehouse location in accordance with safety procedures. Pick, pack, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Load outbound shipments safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with inventory audits. Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all OSHA, company, and warehouse safety regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or logistics preferred. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Basic computer and inventory management skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment throughout the shift. Preferred Skills Knowledge of inventory control procedures. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience loading and unloading trailers.
