Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated PIV Operator (Forklifts) to join our logistics and warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial vehicles, including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Your expertise will ensure safe handling of goods, adherence to safety standards such as OSHA regulations, and smooth warehouse distribution operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, warehouse management system experience, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Duties Safely operate various types of heavy equipment including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and order pickers to move materials throughout the warehouse. Load and unload shipments accurately while adhering to safety protocols and OSHA standards. Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance. Utilize warehouse management systems for inventory control, order picking, and shipping & receiving documentation. Assist with order picking tasks using appropriate equipment such as pickers and pallet jacks to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for shipment or storage. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage space and improve workflow processes. Perform heavy lifting tasks as required while maintaining proper ergonomic practices. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and equipment maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with safety guidelines during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries. Experience Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks in a warehouse or distribution environment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Previous experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, or materials handling roles preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory management. Basic math skills for measurements, weight calculations, and inventory counts. Warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn advanced warehouse management practices is essential.
