Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator specializing in Cold Storage environments to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves operating various types of warehouse equipment to efficiently handle, store, and distribute temperature-sensitive products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety standards, and equipment maintenance, contributing to seamless inventory management and timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities Operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo equipment to load, unload, and transport goods within cold storage facilities. Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and pallet jack operation to support warehouse distribution activities. Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology to ensure accurate stock levels and order picking. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for quality, and documenting transactions. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations. Follow warehouse safety protocols during all materials handling activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on order fulfillment priorities, inventory control, and process improvements. Support warehouse management in maintaining organized storage areas and adhering to cold storage temperature requirements. Qualifications Proven experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks within a warehouse or cold storage setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and shipping & receiving procedures. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and order processing. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including materials handling, heavy lifting techniques, and safety protocols. Previous experience in warehouse supervision or inventory management is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
