Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator Advanced Vehicle Assemblies, LLC Roseville, MI Job Details Full-time From $18.50 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Lifting equipment Safety training program participation as safety practice Interpersonal skills Moving Truck handling Forklift High school diploma or GED Driver's License Materials handling Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Overview AVA is looking for an HI-LO Driver who will oversee, coordinate, and control the handling, storage and flow of materials (finished/unfinished goods) to and from the warehouse, ensuring adequate level of inventories for manufacturing and on time delivery of finished goods to customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily operates a forklift truck to load/unload deliveries from various plants/suppliers ensuring proper storage and inspecting for any damaged goods. Assists in implementing warehouse safety programs in order to provide a clean and safe workplace within regulations OSHA, state and company rules and regulations. Maintains accurate inventory by inputting all incoming and outgoing freight into the computer database, which serves as a tracking tool for inventory control. Pulls orders accurately to prepare for prompt shipments, prepares necessary paperwork, verifies and enters receipt of incoming shipments. Within the limits of responsibility reviews MRP for raw materials, delivery requirements and tracks to ensure on time delivery. Regularly assesses the warehouse facility for adequate storage space, reports any inadequacies, and makes recommendations to obtain maximum utilization of warehouse space. Every three months performs a physical inventory of the warehouse and prepares a report on slow moving or obsolete items. Properly label materials to facilitate identification of items upon retrieval. Completes and performs other duties/tasks as may be assigned. May periodically clean warehouse as needed. Advise appropriate personnel of any problems within the warehouse. Complete and perform all other tasks necessary and/or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly. Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test. Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness. Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED supplemented by commercial, vocational or other specialized training 6 months after High School. 5 to 7 years of related experience.
