Job Description

Job Title:
Vortex Team Operator (VTO)
Reports To:
Warehouse Supervisor FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt Summary:
Responsible for maintaining cold storage inventory and pulling or stocking inbound /outbound shipments for clients according to designated work orders by performing the following duties: Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Works with Warehouse Supervisor & Leads to receive cold storage shipments and maintains all stock inventories for Warehouse.
  • 2. Loads and unloads shipping trucks as required throughout the work shift.
  • 3. Uses a forklift, pallet and hand truck as required to receive, move, and ship products.
  • 4. Assists shipping area with customer orders as requested.
  • 5. Works closely with Supervisor, Leads and other Operators to complete daily work orders quickly and efficiently.
  • 6. Adheres to all safety procedures and best practices.
  • 7. Reports any warehouse issues or concerns promptly to Warehouse Supervisor or Leads.
  • 8. Assists with Inventory Control processes.
  • 9. Be responsible and participate in making a positive Food Safety Culture, including, but not limited to, being on the Food Safety Team.
  • 10. Assists in accident/incident inquiries and investigations when necessary.
  • 11. Responsible for various sanitation duties.
  • 12.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Datex and project management software.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment:
  • Trained and certified in Forklift use and operation.
  • Experience using a warehouse management system.
