Must be available to work overtime with little to no advance notice Position Summary The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading freight, moving products throughout the warehouse, accurately picking and preparing orders, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position works in a cold storage environment and requires the ability to operate various types of material-handling equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Load and unload freight using material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Move products to designated storage areas using the appropriate equipment. Stack and store merchandise accurately and efficiently. Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment. Check and count freight for accuracy, damage, or infestation. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed. Operate equipment safely and efficiently, including: Stand-up forklifts Stand-up straddle trucks Walk-behind equipment Pallet jacks Double pallet jacks High lifts Radio-frequency (RF) equipment Charge forklift batteries as needed. Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately. Maintain warehouse security and follow established safety procedures. Comply with OSHA and workplace safety standards. Participate in physical inventories as needed. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Meet established production and performance standards. Follow attendance and punctuality requirements and report to work ready for the assigned shift. Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers. Perform other warehouse duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Previous warehouse and/or lift truck experience required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to meet production standards and deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to respond appropriately to coaching and direction from supervisors. Must be willing and able to work overtime with little to no notice when business needs require it. Previous cold storage or refrigerated warehouse experience is a plus. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. At least one year of related warehouse or material-handling experience preferred. Physical Requirements This position requires physical activity in a cold storage warehouse environment. The employee may frequently be required to: Sit, hear, and communicate verbally. Use close vision and operate equipment controls. Use hands to grasp, handle, and feel objects. Stand, kneel, crouch, and perform other warehouse-related movements. Occasionally use distance vision. Lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 pounds . Work Environment Cold storage/refrigerated warehouse environment. Fast-paced warehouse setting with production expectations. Appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work practices must be followed. Overtime may be required with little to no advance notice based on operational needs.
