Forklift Operator:

Join Ben's Structural Fabrication as a Forklift Operator, where you'll play an important role in the flow of structural steel and materials throughout our facility. You'll receive, unload, move, stage, and organize steel while supporting production teams with the materials they need to keep work moving safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone with forklift, material handling, manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience who enjoys working independently, staying active, and being part of a hands-on production environment. Load, unload, move, stage, and organize structural steel and other materials throughout the yard and facility while following established safety requirements and production priorities.Receive & Organize Materials:
Unload incoming materials, verify materials against packing documentation, maintain proper material identification, and move materials to designated storage, staging, or production locations.Keep Production Moving:
Retrieve, stage, and deliver materials to machines and work areas based on production needs and changing operational priorities. Maintain anOrganized Yard:
Properly store materials and keep assigned yard areas clean, safe, and organized while removing banding, blocks, debris, and other potential hazards. Inspect & Care forEquipment:
Complete required pre-use forklift inspections, maintain equipment in clean and serviceable condition, and promptly report damage, defects, or maintenance concerns.Support Shop Material Handling:
Assist with material movement and staging inside the shop using overhead cranes and other approved material-handling equipment as trained and authorized. Work Across theTeam:
Coordinate with Production Leads, Machine Operators, Material Handlers, and other team members to support receiving, staging, inventory movement, and overall production flow. Support aSafe & Efficient Workplace:
Maintain clean and organized work areas and identify opportunities to improve material flow, yard organization, equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. Schedule This is a full-time, hourly position. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm . This position works in both outdoor yard and indoor structural steel fabrication environments. A significant portion of the work is performed outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. The forklift cab is temperature controlled; however, regular work outside of the cab is required to inspect equipment, handle and verify materials, maintain yard areas, and support operational needs. Pay Transparency Statement In accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the anticipated pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and role requirements. Ability to safely maneuver forklifts and materials throughout yard, shop, storage, and staging areas. Ability to read and interpret packing slips, material identification, transfer documentation, and related production information. Ability to perform required forklift inspections and identify equipment or safety concerns. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Ability to work safely and adapt to changing production and material-handling priorities. Ability to obtain and maintain Ben's Structural Fabrication authorization to operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and overhead cranes. Preferred Previous experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks. Previous experience in manufacturing, material handling, construction, structural steel fabrication, or a related industrial environment. Previous overhead crane or other material-handling equipment experience. Working knowledge of material staging, receiving, inventory processes, and equipment inspection practices. Familiarity with structural steel or other large, heavy materials.Compensation details:
