In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and organize inventory. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and inventory control will ensure smooth distribution operations. Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lift trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments. Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and proper stock rotation. Assist with order picking using manual handling techniques and order picker equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for any issues with forklifts or other material handling equipment. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and forklift safety protocols during all operations to maintain a safe work environment. Support shipping & receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Maintain organized storage areas, perform heavy lifting as needed, and follow manual handling procedures to prevent injuries. Requirements Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse setting. Knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory management, shipping & receiving, and warehouse distribution. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to manual handling best practices. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes. Strong understanding of forklift safety standards in production environments as outlined by OSHA regulations. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Prior experience in warehouse supervision or materials handling roles is a plus but not required. Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications such as Reach Truck or Hi-Lo operation are advantageous.
