Job Description
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Experience
- Minimum 6 months of previous forklift driving experience required
- Zero to one year of warehouse or related experience and or training
- Experience operating counterbalance forklifts in a warehouse environment
- Experience using material handling equipment such as forklifts conveyors cranes handcarts and power trucks
- Tech Skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read write interpret and comprehend documents written in English
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to work in a metrics driven environment
- Basic knowledge of material handling management logistics or manufacturing production processes
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines
- Ability to maintain records as needed
- Soft Skills
- Effective communication skills with coworkers and Team Lead or Supervisor
- Ability to work under general to limited supervision
- Ability to complete routine tasks using prescribed steps
- Ability to develop skills in basic tasks techniques and procedures within an assigned process
- Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklifts to move materials parts assemblies and finished products within the warehouse or plant
- Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts conveyors cranes handcarts and power trucks
- Follow established standard operating procedures and quality guidelines
- Maintain required records and documentation
- Perform routine warehouse tasks while meeting productivity and quality expectations
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and Team Lead or Supervisor
- Follow all safety procedures and workplace requirements
- Work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM with overtime as needed
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted as required
- Wear steel toe or composite toe shoes as required
- Complete required background checks before starting the assignment
- Perform duties requiring frequent walking standing stooping kneeling balancing climbing lifting crouching reaching pulling pushing grasping talking hearing and twisting
- Perform frequent hand and finger movements including handling feeling picking and typing
- Work near moving mechanical parts and in environments with vibration extreme weather conditions fumes and airborne particles
- Work in high or precarious places when required
- Work in environments that may be hot during summer months due to limited or no air conditioning and cold during winter months due to limited heating
- Work in a moderate to loud noise environment
- Lift and or move items over 50 lbs when required
