Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Dock Worker/Forklift Operator for our first shift team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading shipments, operating various types of warehouse equipment, and ensuring safe handling of materials. Your proactive approach will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, uphold safety standards, and support our commitment to timely delivery and inventory accuracy. Responsibilities Safely operate forklift trucks such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanning equipment to load and unload materials. Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting (Large cases weigh up to 50 lbs) and order picking to support warehouse distribution activities. Manage inbound and outbound shipments by verifying quantities, inspecting for damages, and ensuring proper documentation using warehouse management systems. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal forklift safety and functionality. Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols during all materials handling activities to prevent accidents. Assist with inventory management through barcode scanning and stock organization to ensure accurate stock levels. Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing materials for dispatch or storage efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as sit down forklifts, or similar material handling machinery. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control procedures, and barcode scanning technology. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and heavy equipment use. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred. Strong attention to safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
