In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and clamp trucks, to facilitate the safe movement and storage of goods. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, excellent manual handling skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Duties Operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with safety protocols and operational guidelines. Load and unload shipments efficiently while ensuring proper handling of materials to prevent damage. Pick and prepare orders accurately using barcode scanning systems and warehouse management software. Manage inventory levels by organizing stock within the warehouse and conducting regular stock counts. Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and warehouse safety protocols at all times. Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with supervisors to optimize space utilization. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks while adhering to ergonomic best practices. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using warehouse management systems. Skills Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, Hi-Lo lifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks within a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, inventory management, and materials handling. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes. Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling procedures. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for inventory counts and measurements. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques. Experience with equipment repair or troubleshooting is a plus but not mandatory.
