Position Title:
Warehouse Forklift Operator Department:
Commercial Services/Logistics Status:
Full-Time/Non-exempt Reports to: Warehouse Manager Position summary: The Forklift Driver is responsible for forklift transportation of raw materials and finished products to the warehouse, workstations, and for loading and unloading supply trailers. They are also responsible for driving company box truck and/or tractor trailer vehicles as required.
Essential functions:
Follow established policies and procedures for loading and unloading trucks and material handling; assist with maintaining the warehouse. Ensure that workstations contain the correct parts. Maintain open communication with supervisors, team leaders and material handlers regarding production status (i.e., down time, material shortage, etc.). Prepare required documentation for shipping and receiving processes; report freight damage. Follow company and OSHA safety procedures; attend training as required. Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment; notify maintenance of issues and concerns. May be required to fill in as Truck Driver, including box truck or tractor trailer. Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality. Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols toensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times. Promote positive teamwork among co-workers. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
Knowledge of Safety/OSHA regulations. Ability to safely use power tools as required to maintain facility and equipment. Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment whenrequired. Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, reaching and climbing; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
Education and experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Two yearsexperience in a manufacturing environment. Two yearsexperience operating a forklift. Two years experience professional driving experience,including box truck or tractor trailer vehicles. Forklift certification required; training provided by Goodwill Industries. Must pass drug test. May require CDL A if applicable.
