Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description This role operates forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to support all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, order picking, and shipping. You will use RF scanners and voice-directed technology to handle inventory accurately, ensure timely movement of goods, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and organized distribution environment. Responsibilities Operate forklifts and other power equipment to safely unload incoming freight in the receiving area. Use RF scanners to process products as they are unloaded and place them on the dock in preparation for stocking. Resupply bins and storage locations using RF scanners to maintain accurate inventory levels. Maintain organized and properly labeled inventory freight to support efficient order picking. Perform stocking activities while on foot or using a reach lift to place products in designated locations. Use a Voice Collect headset to accurately select merchandise based on voice-directed instructions. Stage merchandise for transport in an orderly manner to ensure efficient movement through the warehouse. Fulfill customer orders efficiently while on foot or operating a forklift, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Operate forklifts or other power equipment to strategically load products onto outgoing trailers. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment and handling products. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and priorities. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in a warehouse environment. Experience working in inventory management, picking, and order selection. Ability to use RF scanners for receiving, stocking, and inventory control. Ability to use voice-directed picking technology, such as a Voice Collect headset, for order fulfillment. Comfort working with high reach equipment for stocking and retrieving products at elevated heights. Strong safety orientation and commitment to following safety protocols. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time throughout the shift. Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel on a regular basis to handle products and perform warehouse tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when needed. Willingness to be available for work on weekends and holidays as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse environment handling receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping activities. Experience as an order selector using forklifts and high reach equipment. Familiarity with inventory control processes and warehouse best practices. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory handling. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills to coordinate with coworkers and supervisors. Why Work Here? The role involves standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods, as well as lifting and handling products. The dress code is relaxed and practical, allowing shorts or pants, sneakers or other closed-toe shoes, and T-shirts without profanity, supporting comfort and safety while you work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofFREDERICKSBURG, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
