Job Description
As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of materials within our facility. Schedule 8 Hour Shift Monday-Friday 2nd Shift 2:30PM-11:00PM Pay $17-$26 per hour with Shift Differential of 20% on 2nd Shift Responsibilities
- Operating forklift equipment to move materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to designated areas, and organizing inventory in the warehouse.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures while operating the forklift, conducting pre-operational inspections, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Performing routine inspections of the forklift to ensure proper working condition, reporting any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel, and participating in regular maintenance activities.
- Assisting in maintaining accurate inventory records by documenting material movements, conducting cycle counts, and communicating any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborating with warehouse and production team members to support daily operations, fulfill orders, and meet production deadlines. Communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload. In addition, you will be expected to:
- Safely load and unload trucks using the forklift.
- Report any machine deficiencies or damages promptly for repairs.
- Ensure secure transportation and proper placement of materials during transport and unloading.
- Maintain clear vision and remain vigilant of overhead hazards and obstructions.
- Lower forks to ground level when the forklift is parked to prevent accidents.
- Perform daily inspections of the forklift and actively participate in equipment maintenance tasks.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid endangering personnel or company property.
- Secure the forklift properly before leaving the cab and maintain a production pace to achieve goals efficiently.
- Prohibit unauthorized individuals from riding on the forklift and adhere to lifting and other requirements, including performing repetitive movements and lifting heavy objects.
