Job Title:
Forklift Operator - Shipping Job Description This temporary position focuses on safely operating a forklift to move skids of finished product, stage them in the shipping area, and support an efficient packaging and shipping process. The role involves working closely with production, handling inventory documentation, and using RF scanning equipment to ensure accurate and timely shipment of goods. Responsibilities Operate a forklift to move skids of finished product from the production area to designated locations in the shipping area. Collect product from various production stations and transport it to staging areas in preparation for shipping. Perform basic inventory documentation to track product movement and ensure accurate records. Stage product in the shipping area to support accurate order fulfillment and timely shipping schedules. Use RF scanning equipment to record product locations, verify quantities, and maintain inventory accuracy. Load and unload box trucks and box trailers as needed, following safe material handling practices. Use a shrink wrapper to complete the packaging process for product on skids, ensuring secure and stable loads. Inspect product and packaging for quality and accuracy before staging for shipment. Move between multiple stations involved in inspecting and packaging product, maintaining productivity and workflow. Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Work on your feet for the entire shift, performing general labor tasks related to packing, inspecting, production, and shipping. Essential Skills Prior forklift operating experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment. Ability to work reliably with strong attendance and punctuality. Capability to stand and perform physical tasks for the entire shift. Strong attention to detail when inspecting product, documenting inventory, and staging shipments. Comfort working in a loud, warm to hot environment around machinery. Ability to follow safety protocols and consistently wear required protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in production or manufacturing environments is preferred. Experience with packing, inspecting, and general labor in shipping or warehouse operations. Familiarity with RF scanning equipment for inventory tracking is an advantage. Ability to work across multiple stations and adapt to changing tasks throughout the shift. Why Work Here? You will move between multiple stations involved in inspecting and packaging product, working on your feet for the entire shift. Personal protective equipment, including a hair net, ear plugs, and safety glasses, must be worn at all times, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Leola, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
