Job Description
Overview Diamond Wire Spring Company is looking for a Forklift Operator and Material Handler. We are looking for an experienced forklift operator to keep our warehouse operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this position you will operate a propane fueled forklift —to safely load, unload, and transport goods throughout the manufacturing plant. We are looking for a person that is organized, accurate at math, enjoys a high paced work environment, attention to detail, and likes to keep busy throughout the work shift. Applicant must have a valid drivers license because at times you will be required to pick up or deliver materials locally using the company truck. Responsibilities Safely operate forklift trucks, to load and unload shipments efficiently, and feed material to the machine operators. Manage inventory and work closely with the Asst. GM to keep materials organized and accurate. Perform manual handling tasks including staging wire from a couple pounds to 2500 pounds in the proper staging areas. Accurately receive in steel wire material, tag it, and put it away in the proper areas. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or coordinate maintenance to maintain optimal operation of material handling equipment. Follow warehouse safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Support shipping & receiving processes by verifying inbound/outbound shipments, updating inventory records, and managing warehouse distribution tasks. clean up and organize steel wire during down time. Experience Proven experience operating propane fueled forklifts in a warehouse setting. Familiarity with a computer is needed to print labels and tags. Onsite training is available for this task. Prior experience in warehouse operations involving shipping & receiving, order picking, load & unload procedures, and manual handling techniques. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling best practices. ability to read calipers and micrometers to measure wire is required. If unfamiliar with these measuring tools training can be provided. This ability is required to work in this position. At down times or critical orders you maybe pulled into the other dept.'s to labor or assist in tasks. Basic math skills for inventory counts and measurement tasks are essential for success in this role. Pay:
