Job Description

  • Affix labels on skids or products to identify shipping information.
  • Measure and count products and materials.
  • Examine and inspect skids, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Verify shipping information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Complete specific forms and records when required.
  • Load and unload trucks with a forklift,hand truck to transport products to the proper designated area.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness of work area.
  • Receive returned product from customers. Responsible for examining returned product to ensure all items are in intact.
  • Maintain inventory on products, wraps and pallets.
  • Assist with training of new employees.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and general maintenance on forklifts, sweepers, etc. as required.
  • Execute the picking and shipping (delivery) of all Sales Orders using the WMS. Performing the delivery procedure according to the SOP.
  • The shipping assistant will be responsible for tarping loads as needed.
  • Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to appropriate departments when needed.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Understand and follow all company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Shipping assistant will be responsible for transferring finished goods from the production end of the facility to the finished goods yard physically and in the WMS system.
  • Perform other duties when assigned.
