Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks, to manage the movement, loading, and unloading of materials within a fast-paced distribution environment. Your expertise in warehouse operations will ensure the safe handling of goods, adherence to safety standards, and smooth flow of inventory. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-organized warehouse operation while utilizing your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills. Available Shifts Various shifts available Duties Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and cranes to load and unload shipments safely and efficiently. Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately. Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure safety compliance and report any maintenance needs. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs when necessary. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing inventory, stacking pallets, and maintaining a clean work environment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve operational workflows. Follow OSHA safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Requirements Candidate must have a clean background check. Proven experience operating forklifts, cherry pickers, cranes, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting. Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control procedures. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues. Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety. Prior experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members across departments.
