Forklift/Crane Operator (Humble) Diversified Sourcing Solutions - 3.5 Houston, TX Job Details $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Forklift Bridge crane operation Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Diversified Sourcing Solutions is seeking an experienced Forklift and Overhead Crane Operator to support daily steel processing and material‑handling operations for one of our elite clients in Humble, TX. This role is responsible for safely moving, staging, and loading steel products—including beams, bars, coils, pipe, and sheet metal—using heavy‑capacity forklifts, overhead cranes, and related equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong safety mindset, experience in a steel or metals environment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced warehouse or production setting. Key Responsibilities Material Handling & Equipment Operation

• Operate sit‑down and stand‑up forklifts (up to 25K+ capacity) to move, load, and unload steel materials.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, JIB cranes, and side loaders to handle heavy and oversized loads.
• Load/unload trucks, railcars, and staging areas with steel beams, coils, bars, pipe, and sheet metal.
• Use saws, bandsaws, or cutting equipment (as applicable) to process material to customer specifications.
• Pull, stage, and prepare orders for production, fabrication, or outbound shipment. Steel Processing Support
• Assist with coil line operations, sheet metal cutting, or roll forming as needed.
• Perform basic machine operation tasks such as feeding material, monitoring cuts, and verifying measurements.
• Maintain equipment and tools, reporting any issues to supervisors. Shipping, Receiving & Inventory
• Receive incoming materials, verify paperwork, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Use RF scanners, tablets, or handheld devices to track inventory and update system records.
• Organize and maintain yard and warehouse storage areas for safe and efficient workflow. Safety & Compliance
• Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment daily and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work area.
• Secure loads properly and ensure safe movement of materials throughout the facility. Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes in a steel, metals, or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Ability to safely handle heavy and irregular loads.
• Experience with steel processing equipment (bandsaw, sawzall, plasma cutter, roll former, coil line, etc.) is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, measurements, and basic production documents.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in warehouse/yard conditions. Preferred Skills
• Overhead crane certification
• Forklift certification (sit‑down, stand‑up, high‑capacity)
• Experience with RF scanners or inventory systems
• Knowledge of steel grades, sizes, and material types
