SUMMARY OF THE JOB
Operate industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials within the warehouse, storage yard, department floor and specific locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Check forklift prior to use for mandatory daily inspection logs and ensure emergency equipment is in good working order. Inspect loads to ensure that that there is load securement in alignment with company standards. Collect accurate instructions from your supervisor, verifying location drop spot.
2.Complete and maintain forklift maintenance forms, industrial trucks must be in compliance with state and company regulations. If truck is not in compliance, it must be put on an "out of service" status.
3.Drive trucks into loading or unloading positions at a speed that does not exceed a 4mph speed, use signals when driving forklift, and be mindful of pedestrians and rules of operations. Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
4.Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery. Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.
5.Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary. Remove debris from loaded trailers.
6.Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded and secured to ensure that there has been no damage. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks; request preventative maintenance such as needed. Act as relief in support of local driver in times designated by Manager.
7.Practice personal safety and follow all area safety practices and procedures. Perform safety inspections on equipment. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety Manager. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
8.Responsible for quality in all aspects of work and ensuring customer specifications are met. Demonstrate initiative and a sense of urgency in fulfilling customer orders in support of all company business. Is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all designated work areas, must ensure that all cardboard, materials, and/or any loose items are properly stored as per audit requirements
9.Responsible for own time records. Must use timekeeping system to record all hours worked. Ensure any missed punches, vacation requests, sick days, or overtime authorization forms are approved by a supervisor or manager and submitted to the HR/Payroll Clerk in compliance with company payroll processing deadlines.

SUPERVISION
Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; standard practices or procedures allow employee to proceed alone at routine work; occasional work is checked while in progress; work is reviewed upon completion. Requires knowledge of and compliance with Fox Packaging policies and procedures.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
This position requires a high school diploma, previous forklift certification and/or general education degree (GED); and three (2) years related experience operating a forklift; or equivalent combination of education and experienc
NECESSARY SKILLS
Employee must be able to work in a team environment. Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a cooperative attitude. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Requires basic computer skills including data entry, must be able to effectively communicate via email.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

WORK SCHEDULES/HOURS
Normal work week is 40 hours, Monday-Friday. Employees may be required to work overtime, weekends and/or to alter daily schedule to meet the needs of the business
