Forklift Operator Job Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in the production and distribution of kitty litter to major retailers. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory and ensuring smooth operations within the warehouse. Responsibilities Retrieve packaged products from the packaging department to load onto outbound trailers or warehouse racks. Unload inbound products and raw materials, directing them to outbound trailers or racks for put-away. Perform pre and post-shift operational inspections on the assigned forklift daily. Inspect trailers and product pallets prior to loading onto trailers. Conduct product inventory, bin consolidation, and case picking. Meet required efficiency targets based on operator level. Operate forklifts and ensure safe loading and unloading of trailers. Move finished products from the production line to appropriate warehouse locations. Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers. Pick products following guidelines using an RF scanner, hand wrap and label products, and stage them appropriately. Ensure a clean and safe production environment, including sanitation and cleaning. Regularly lift items up to 55 pounds. Essential Skills Forklift operating experience, preferably 1-2 years. Experience with sit-down forklifts. Proficiency in using RF scanners. Experience with SAP/WMS via iPad. Strong focus on safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in high-volume, fast-paced facilities. Familiarity with material handling and pallet jacks. Hands-on forklift skills test required during in-person interview. Experience with Amazon forklift operations is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment The warehouse facility, connected to the production plant, is clean and organized despite some dust during production. The facility operates under a high-volume, fast-paced environment, handling approximately 150-200 pallets per day. The dress code is casual to accommodate physical activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of King William, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.65 - $26.65/hr.
