This role supports daily operations by ensuring materials are handled efficiently, accurately, and safely. Key Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklift to transport lumber, plywood, and building materials Load and unload trucks according to shipping and receiving schedules Stack, stage, and organize materials in designated yard locations Verify product quantities and inspect materials for damage Assist customers or drivers with material pick-up when required Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance issues Qualifications Previous forklift operating experience required (lumber yard or warehouse preferred) Ability to safely handle long, heavy, or oversized materials Basic math and inventory counting skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong attention to safety and detail Reliable attendance and punctuality Physical Requirements Frequently lift up to 50 lbs (team lift for heavier items) Stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout shift Work in outdoor and warehouse environments Schedule & Work Environment Full-time, day shift (schedule may vary by location) Fast-paced lumber yard setting PPE required (steel-toe boots, safety vest, etc.) What We Offer Weekly Pay of $19.00-$21.00 per hour Direct deposit & debit card payment options Health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance Get weekends off Temp-to-hire opportunity Forklift Driver Shift Info Day Shift, 07:00 am to 4:00 pm Day Shift 09:00 am- 6:00 pm Monday - Friday About Ascend Staffing Ascend Staffing has been connecting great people with real opportunities for over 50 years.
