Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Donor Database Manager to oversee the accuracy and day-to-day management of the organization's donor and constituent database. The Donor Database Manager plays an important role in supporting fundraising, donor stewardship, campaigns, events, and organizational reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data and technology, has exceptional attention to detail, and understands the importance of maintaining accurate and confidential donor information.
The successful candidate will ensure donor records are accurate and reliable, gifts and pledges are processed in a timely manner, and fundraising reports provide useful information to support organizational decision-making. This role will also support strong donor stewardship and help improve the efficiency and consistency of database processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate donor and constituent records, including contact information, gifts, pledges, payments, and donor activity.
Process and record donations, pledges, recurring gifts, sponsorships, grants, and other revenue.
Reconcile donor and gift records with financial information in partnership with the finance team.
Regularly review and clean database records to maintain accuracy and data integrity.
Develop and maintain consistent database procedures and data-entry standards.
Prepare regular and ad hoc reports related to giving, campaigns, donor activity, and fundraising performance.
Support donor acknowledgement, recognition, renewals, and stewardship efforts.
Prepare donor lists, mailing and email lists, event lists, and other information needed by the development team.
Support fundraising campaigns and events through accurate registration, sponsorship, donor, and giving records.
Serve as a resource to staff using the donor database and provide guidance on proper database procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve database processes, reporting, and overall efficiency.
Maintain donor and organizational information with a high degree of confidentiality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
2+ years of experience in database management, fundraising/development operations, nonprofit administration, business administration, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with a nonprofit donor database or CRM.
Fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development experience.
Experience with database reporting, queries, imports/exports, and data cleanup.
Familiarity with donor stewardship and fundraising metrics.
Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, events, volunteers, or community partners.
