Summary The Philanthropy Manager is responsible for designing and implementing EAC's major gifts and annual giving programs. The position is responsible for developing and growing major gifts programs and annual giving campaigns that advance the organization's mission, align with its strategic plan, and support long-term financial sustainability. The position leads the overall strategy and execution, including long-range planning, giving campaigns, donor relations, and donor data management. In collaboration with the Executive Director and the Donor Engagement & Events Director, the Philanthropy Manager helps shape and carry out EAC's overall fundraising strategy, ensuring annual fundraising goals are met.

Key Goals of This Position:

Develop and execute organizational multi-year fundraising strategies focused on major gifts and giving campaigns to support and substantially grow the organization's annual budget. Plan, design, launch, direct, and manage a major gifts program, working in collaboration with the Executive Director and board to establish target goals and strategies. Expand EAC's giving campaigns and opportunities for giving, driving community and donor interest, growth, and retention. Work with the team to meet or exceed established annual and quarterly fundraising goals, leading revenue and budget targets for individual giving.

Responsibilities:

Major Gifts & Board Relations (34%) Develop strategies to build and sustain a successful major gifts program. Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, with tiers of giving capacity. Research, build, and manage a successful donor portfolio. Develop and cultivate meaningful donor relations, fostering and supporting donor engagement. Provide expertise on CRM/database systems and wealth tracking, and support the Donor Engagement & Events Director with CRM management. Create personal solicitation plans, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Identify new donors and constituencies with mid-to-major gift-level capacities. Consistently share the meaningful impact donors make, ensuring they feel valued and deeply connected to EAC's mission. Build meaningful connections and community. Assist the Executive Director with strategic Board recruitment as needed. Track and analyze donor metrics to inform strategic decisions and improve retention. Track and report on progress toward fundraising goals. Annual Giving Campaigns (33%) Oversee the drafting, design, launch, and management of direct mail appeals, email campaigns, digital/social giving campaigns (limited), planned giving, and recurring giving programs. Manage segmented donor communications, optimization, and welcome/thank-you series. Oversee annual giving calendar and provide input on communications, including appeals. Donor Engagement & Retention (33%) Ensure timely and meaningful acknowledgment, recognition, and upgrade opportunities for individual major donors. Develop strategies for donor loyalty, engagement, surveys, and segmentation. Monitor key metrics, including donor retention rates, average gift size, upgrade/downgrade rates, donor lifetime value, and conversion rates. Support the Executive Director and staff with special donor engagement events. Limited other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director, time permitting.

Qualifications:

Required Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven track record of securing gifts of five figures and above. Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, major gifts, and giving. Proven success in establishing annual campaigns that meet or exceed fundraising goals, at a minimum level of $300,000-$500,000. Strong strategic planning, fundraising, goal setting, and data-informed decision-making. Proficiency with CRM systems and fundraising analytics, with experience analyzing fundraising data to inform strategic decisions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills; able to engage, inspire, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Able to work independently and cross-functionally in a team environment Skilled in leading and motivating volunteers. Strong project planning and management skills; highly detail-oriented and organized. Proficient with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite. Committed to equity, environmental justice, and the mission of EAC. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends; ability to assist with event setup. Must be able to travel between the office and work sites, such as event locations. Must be able to come into the office at least one day per week. Position requires highly effective work habits, including teamwork, productivity, dependable attendance, and professionalism. Preferred Familiarity with collaborative and productivity software tools such as Asana and Clockify, supporting efficiency and consistency across the team. Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. This job operates primarily in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners. In addition to office-based duties, this position occasionally requires work at off-site, community-based locations. These environments may include outdoor settings with uneven terrain and may involve light hiking or extended walking during events. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or reach for objects. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift office supplies and event materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
