Job Description

The Salvation Army of Broward County seeks an accomplished, relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as Director of Development during a pivotal moment in the organization's history. Lead and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy supporting annual operations, long-term growth initiatives, and the ongoing success of the Centennial Campaign. Build upon an established foundation of donor relationships, campaign momentum, and community partnerships while identifying new opportunities for philanthropic investment. Coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure campaign initiatives, fundraising projects, donor communications, and organizational priorities are executed effectively and on schedule. Serve as a strategic partner to the Area Commander and Advisory Board in fundraising, campaign advancement, board engagement, and community outreach. Collaborate closely with designated Salvation Army regional major gifts and planned giving professionals to maximize philanthropic opportunities and coordinate local donor strategies. Oversee and strengthen all development operations, including donor stewardship, direct response fundraising, volunteer engagement, community relations, marketing, grants, and special events. Provide leadership and oversight for the organization's signature fundraising events, including the highly successful Red Shield Regatta and other key community engagement initiatives. Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and contractors supporting grant writing, campaign strategy, marketing, communications, video production, direct mail, and special events. Manage and mentor development staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and excellence. Oversee donor database management, fundraising analytics, vendor relationships, reporting, acknowledgments, and campaign tracking.
