GLAZER HALL
is a nonprofit performing arts center in the heart of Palm Beach dedicated to inspiring audiences of all ages and deepening human connection through the arts. We present a diverse lineup of music, dance, theater, film, and educational programming, and we partner with local nonprofits and offer flexible rental spaces for private events. The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing and implementing all fundraising strategies to secure vital funding for
GLAZER HALL.
The Director of Development will lead the development team, manage donor relationships, and develop and execute fundraising plans. The Director of Development will also work closely with other departments, such as marketing and programming, as well as board members and senior staff, to ensure fundraising goals are met. In addition to building relationships with donors, and overseeing sponsorships, the Director of Development will be in charge of strategic planning and major gifts, as well as manage fundraising activities, including annual campaigns, appeals and grants. This full-time position requires a mix of office work and outside meetings with major donors. This is a senior level position and a knowledge and understanding of donors in the Palm Beach community is required. The Director of Development will report directly to the Executive Director and The Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities of Development Director:
Strategic Planning:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission and goals as well as goals set in the annual budget.
Fundraising Execution:
Overseeing and managing fundraising campaigns, events, and other initiatives to raise funds.
Donor Relations:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, both current and potential, to secure philanthropic support.
Team Leadership:
Leading and managing the development team, providing guidance, training, and support.
Reporting and Analysis:
Tracking fundraising progress, preparing reports, and analyzing results to inform future strategies.
Budget Management:
Coming up with and managing a development budget and ensuring that fundraising activities are achieving budgetary goals.
Collaboration:
Working effectively with other departments, including the Executive Director, board members, and communications team, to achieve fundraising goals.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong leadership and management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven fundraising experience Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as well as fundraising tools such as Raiser's Edge, Wealth Engine, Tessitura or others. Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Prior experience engaging major donor communities in key markets such as Palm Beach, New York (the Northeast) and/or California. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in fundraising or development leadership roles.
