Full-Time Individual Giving Officer Description:
The Yiddish Book Center seeks an Individual Giving Officer to join this dynamic cultural organization and help grow its fundraising program. Now in its 46th year, the Center, located in Amherst, MA, has an annual budget of close to $10 million and a robust fundraising program. The Center is in the midst of a campaign to raise its endowment to $120 million by its fiftieth anniversary in 2030. This position will report to the Director of Institutional Advancement and will have regular interaction with members and donors to further the individual giving program and overall fundraising efforts through extensive travel.
Responsibilities:
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of between 100-300 donors and members to increase giving from existing donors and secure major gifts Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement to meet mutually agreed upon activity, travel, and ambitious fundraising goals Establish personal relationships with members and donors, matching donors' interests with the Yiddish Book Center's vision and programming goals Collaborate with Center development staff and partner with programming staff to understand programs and anticipate funding needs Develop familiarity with giving vehicles such as stocks, Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), and Donor-Advised Funds to offer options of ways for donors to make charitable gifts
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of fundraising or related experience Ability to travel frequently to visit donors Superior writing and communication skills, Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Sense of humor, entrepreneurial spirit, and willingness to collaborate as team member Appreciation and ability to articulate the Yiddish Book Center's mission, values and goals B.A. required Familiarity with fundraising software especially Raiser's Edge NXT 7, and Donor Search a plus. The Center offers a full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and sick time, and retirement matching. Annual salary commensurate with experience in the range of $90,000 - $100,000.
