Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our kitchen operations, helping to prepare ingredients, assemble dishes, and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Responsibilities Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling menu items according to standardized recipes and procedures. Support food preparation activities, including slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients with proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to facilitate food production. Maintain cleanliness of work stations, including proper cleaning of utensils, equipment, and food prep areas to meet food safety standards. Follow food handling guidelines and safety protocols to ensure quality and hygiene in all food production processes. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service delivery. Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and reporting shortages or issues promptly. Requirements Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, dietary department, or restaurant work is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments. Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with various cooking methods. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness standards. Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and team members. A background in catering or food service experience is a plus; willingness to learn new culinary techniques is essential.
