The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Director of Development to lead the organization's fundraising strategy, including grants, corporate and foundation partnerships, major donor cultivation, and special events. This role also oversees marketing, branding, and communications efforts that strengthen the Center's visibility and community engagement while supporting our mission to advance health equity for Boston's diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the Center's strategic priorities and long-term financial sustainability Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government partners Research, write, and coordinate grant proposals, reports, and donor communications in collaboration with program and leadership teams Plan and execute major fundraising events, including sponsorship development, donor engagement, and event logistics Oversee the organization's marketing, branding, and communications strategies to strengthen community visibility and engagement Supervise development and marketing staff and collaborate with senior leadership, consultants, and board members to advance fundraising initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university 3-5 years of fundraising, development, or advancement experience with demonstrated success in grants, donor relations, and event fundraising Strong writing, communication, and relationship-building skills Experience managing multiple projects and working collaboratively with leadership, boards, and external partners Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and fundraising databases such as Raiser's Edge preferred Knowledge of the Boston philanthropic community and familiarity with Boston's communities of color strongly preferred Join Our Team!
